Insulators & Electrical
Co. (IEC) (Prop. Hindusthan Vidyut Products Limited) is set
up at Mandideep, Bhopal in technical collaboration with Rheinisch
Westfalische Isolatoren Werke, GmbH, West Germany, a leader in 400
kV High Strength Solid core Insulators. Tata Consulting Engineers
have provided the Engineering Services for the project.
IEC, a state of art factory, is set up to design, manufacture
and test Electro-porcelain Insulators for EHV & UHV applications
by building quality into the products through scientific methods
from raw material selection, processing, finishing, testing to packing,
conforming to the stringent International Standards.
IEC has the unique and sophisticated computer controlled lsojet
kilns & Photo copying lathes, six station automatic lathes in
addition to the other manufacturing facilities. This ensures proper
firing and most accurate dimensions of insulators.
Hollow and Solid Core Insulators (cylindrical
apparatus insulators) are manufactured with extra high bending breaking
strength due to their ceramic composition being unique ingredients
- Alumina in construction of Insulator.
Range of Manufacture
With an annual production capacity of 6000 M.T. of Porcelain Insulators,
following types of Insulators are manufactured.
Solid Core Insulators
- Solid Core Station Post Insulators for use
upto 400 kV.
- Long Rod Insulators for use upto
400 kV.
- Solid Core Insulators for Railway
Electrification for use on 25 kV Railway system.
Bushing Insulstors
- Hollow Porcelain Insulators upto
400 kV applications for:
- Current Transformers.
- Voltage Transformers.
- SF6 Circuit breaker interruptors & supports.
- (Extra High Strength Alumina
based Insulators)
Disc Insulators
- Suspension & Tension String
Insulators for use upto 400 kV Transmission lines.
Special Type Insulators
- Bus type Insulators for use in Busbars.
- Cylindrical/Conical Insulators
for use in Air pollution control in power plants, chemical plants
etc.
